The final paperwork for the 2024/25 North East Wales Skills Academy (NEWSA) programme has now been officially submitted, marking the successful completion of a major skills and employability initiative funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Since launching from a standing start, the programme engaged with more than 300 members of the public, with over 270 individuals successfully completing a range of training courses designed to support employability, skills development and career progression across the region.

The success of the programme was made possible through strong collaboration between employers, education providers, community organisations and delivery partners, all working together to create meaningful opportunities for local people.

Special thanks were extended to partners and supporters including teams from JCB Wrexham, Tenstar Simulation AB, Wrexham Leadership Alliance, Caia Park Partnership Ltd, NPORS, Net World Sports, The Very Group, Ambition North Wales, Department for Work and Pensions, Wrexham University and Recruit4staff among many others.

A special mention was also given to the team at Gatewen Training Services for their hard work and commitment throughout the programme, including Contracts Manager Zoe for helping to successfully manage delivery and compliance requirements across the project.

The programme’s achievements highlight the value of partnership working in supporting communities, addressing skills gaps and creating pathways into employment and future careers across North Wales.
